About Papillon’s

According to Petsmedonline.org, Papillon’s are the 8th smartest dog of all breeds. They are considered to be one of the most affectionate of all dog breeds. They are in the “toy” group size. They are very agile and are one of the easiest breeds to train. They are very protective of their pack/family and let everyone know it, but can be friendly toward strangers, other dogs and pets, and are very good with children. They enjoy being indoors and out. They are very high energy dogs. They are very clean and need brushing every now and again. All dogs shed, but with certain types of shampoo and brushing can reduce the shedding to very moderate. Their coat is long, straight, and silky. Their hair forms a fringe of longer hair on the ears, chest, back of legs, and tail. The longer hair around the face gives the shape of butterfly. In the French language butterfly means papillon (pronounced: pappy-yawn) and is how they received their name.

There are 2 type of Papillon’s:
Phalene (or droopy eared variety) &
Papillon (erect eared variety)
The ones we are selling are Papillon and have very erect ears! They almost look like little foxes!
